Viksit Bharat Foundation: Creating a Cleaner Future Through MRF & FSTP

An Initiative by Viksit Bharat Foundation in Sultanpur, Gurugram, Haryana.

In a significant step towards improving waste management, sanitation, and environmental sustainability, Viksit Bharat Foundation has taken the initiative to develop Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) Centers in Sultanpur, Gurugram, Haryana. The initiative is envisioned to strengthen local waste management infrastructure, promote scientific treatment and recovery of waste, and contribute towards creating a cleaner and healthier environment for the community.

  • The Bhumi Poojan ceremony was successfully conducted on 27 September 2025,  marking a significant milestone and the formal beginning of this important project. The ceremony brought together the vision, planning, and commitment behind the initiative, setting the foundation for its successful execution. With the foundation now laid, the project has progressed from the planning and conceptual stage towards actual implementation on the ground. Brickwork and construction activities are currently underway at the project site, reflecting steady progress towards the development of the planned infrastructure. The ongoing work marks an important step forward in transforming the proposed vision into a functional project that can contribute to the larger goals of sustainable development, improved infrastructure, and a cleaner and healthier future.
  • The proposed MRF and FSTP Centers will support more responsible and systematic management of waste and sanitation. The MRF facility will contribute towards better segregation and recovery of recyclable materials, while the FSTP will support the scientific treatment and management of faecal sludge. Together, these facilities are intended to strengthen sustainable waste and sanitation practices in the area.
  • For Viksit Bharat Foundation, this initiative represents more than the development of infrastructure. It is a step towards creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Sultanpur, while encouraging greater awareness and participation in responsible environmental practices. With the project now taking shape on the ground, it marks another meaningful step towards building long-term solutions for the community and the environment.

Viksit Bharat Foundation’s Roti Collection Drive for Gau Seva

Nourishing Cows, Preventing Food Waste

In another thoughtful initiative to support animal welfare and reduce food wastage, the Viksit Bharat Foundation has stepped forward with a dedicated Roti Collection Drive for Gaushalas. Under this initiative, leftover and surplus rotis are collected from households across the community and transported through rickshaws to Gaushalas, where they are used to feed cows. The initiative reflects the Foundation’s commitment to serving Gau Mata while encouraging responsible food management among citizens. By connecting households with Gaushalas, Viksit Bharat Foundation is ensuring that perfectly usable leftover food does not end up in waste bins and instead becomes a source of nourishment for voiceless animals. The initiative also encourages people to contribute their extra rotis for a meaningful cause, creating a simple yet impactful way for every household to participate in Gau Seva. Through such community-driven efforts, Viksit Bharat Foundation is promoting compassion, reducing food waste, and inspiring people to come together for the welfare of animals and a cleaner, more responsible society.

Seminar Organizd By Viksit Bharat Foundation On Beti Bachao Beti Padhao

Empowering Girls Through Awareness

To raise awareness about the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme and other related government programs, Viksit Bharat Foundation organized a seminar at the Government Girls Inter College, Thal, Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. About 350 girls and teachers enthusiastically participated in the event. The focus was primarily on eliminating gender biased sex selection, ensuring the existence and safety of girls, guaranteeing education for girls, protecting them from exploitation, and making them aware of right and wrong. The Viksit Bharat Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to continuing such awareness programs across the country, working towards a future where every girl is valued.

A Community-Led Cleanliness Drive

In the picturesque town of Pithoragarh, nestled in the majestic hills of Uttarakhand, a remarkable transformation is taking place. Spearheaded by the Viksit Bharat Foundation, the initiative has brought together the local community in an inspiring movement that is changing the face of sanitation and cleanliness in the region. The Viksit Bharat Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to sustainable development and social welfare, took the mission to heart and adopted Pithoragarh as a focal point of their cleanliness drive. The local community needed to be the heart and soul of the initiative, and Viksit Bharat Foundation made sure that the villagers of Pithoragarh were not just bystanders but key contributors to this cleanliness revolution. Villagers, with broomsticks in hand, began clearing roads, removing plastic waste.

Awareness, Impact And A Cleaner Future

Through door-to-door campaigns, workshops, and community gatherings, they educated the villagers about the long-term benefits of cleanliness. The foundation also distributed cleanliness kits… and for school children the edible items included basic yet essential staples such as energy bars, fruits, and fortified snacks. Today, the results of this massive collective effort are evident. The streets of Pithoragarh are cleaner, the environment is healthier, and the villagers themselves are more aware of the importance of sanitation. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan event organized by the Viksit Bharat Foundation in Pithoragarh is a testament to the power of community-driven change.
